A fanned fret 7 string electric guitar? Holy cow !! 7 string guitars aren't that unusual, especially in the world of metal-shredding, but a fanned fret? Well, why not? Suppose you want the extended range of a 7 string, but you really don't want to pretend that you're a death demon from the underworld. In other words, you want extra low-end punch with good tone throughout – and you don't want some screaming, distorted, overdriven, high-output pickups.
The multi-scale keeps all the treble, mid, and bass notes crisp. The treble E scale length is 25.5", increasing to just under 27" at the bass B. Pickups are the Seymour-Duncan© '59 Classic and '59 Classic Plus.
This beauty is a hollow-body with the classic yellow/cherry burst flamed maple top with black accents in the "flames". Contrasting with the top is the walnut-colored alder sides and striped mahogany back with a dark brown burst. The maple neck is laminated pieces of quartersawn maple and Central American rosewood for exceptional stability.
String spread at the nut is 42.1 mm (1-21/32"). This is the standard Gibson "narrow" spread for the first 6 strings, plus the distance between the 6th and 7th strings. Spread at the bridge is 61.9 mm (2-7/16"). Fretboard radius is 16" to help make the bar chords across the 7th string easier.
This is a truly unique instrument, combing extended range with excellent tonal quality in an attractive and quality package.
